I just wanted to say, firstly, congratulations to Karen Uhlenbeck on winning the 2019 Abel Prize (which is, in my opinion, more deserving of the title "the Nobel Prize of math" than the Fields Medal even though both are VERY prestigious). In winning the Abel Prize, Prof. Uhlenbeck is the first female recipient of this coveted prize! So I take off my dusty Pistons hat in recognition of a historically Great One!
Next...and I know I'm a bit late in this, since he passed away in January... I just wanted to say R.I.P. Sir Michael Atiyah. He was (and is, and always will be) one of the most quotable mathematicians of all time. His numerous contributions to math and science in general are too numerous to get into here. He's definitely on the short list of mathematicians I most wanted to meet in person. Sir Michael Atiyahh was rightfully one of the most decorated mathematicians ever, and his legacy is and will be a proud and lasting one.
